Temple constitution

ARTICLE I – Name

 The name of this Church is Leanai Na Deithe Temple. It is a corporation duly created by the Secretary of the State of Minnesota on April 16th, 2020 as a Non-profit Religious Corporation located in Minnesota. 

ARTICLE II – Purpose

 The purpose of the Leanai Na Deithe Temple is to serve as a space for Pagans and any other curious members of the community to seek out and use their sovereignty for truth and knowledge.  

ARTICLE III – Statement of Faith

 Our Statement of Faith is “Fírinne Agus Eolas a Lorg” which translates into “Seeking Truth and Knowledge”. 

ARTICLE IV – Membership Section 1. Qualifications for Membership

 Membership in Leanai Na Deithe Temple shall be open to all persons who:

  1. show a clear interest in growing in their spirituality
  2. have an interest in The Aduno Path
  3. are pagan or some other kind of occultist seeking a spiritual home


In addition to all this, any members must take a firm oppositional stance against all bigotries that seek to infringe on the sovereignty of others. 

Section 2. Applications for Membership

Anyone wishing to join Leanai Na Deithe Temple shall make a request for membership by emailing temple@thelndcc.com or fill out the application on our Membership Application page. The individual shall be given a membership application, a copy of the Statement of Beliefs, bylaws, and a copy of the constitution. A member of the High Council shall meet with the applicant following completion of the application. The High Council will approve new members.

Section 3. Receiving of New Members

Applicants admitted to membership by the High Council shall affirm their membership commitment and be publicly - or privately, at the member’s request - acknowledged as members in the monthly newsletter or through the Temple’s social media. 

Section 4. Responsibilities of Members

Each member shall pursue their truth and knowledge in cooperation with the other members of this temple. Each member who is and not under any disciplinary action is entitled to vote at meetings of the church membership. 

Section 5. Removal from Membership

 Removal of members from this Temple shall be at the discretion of the High Council. The following are reasons for removal from membership:

  1. harboring bigoted beliefs 
  2. request of transfer of membership to another church or temple
  3. purposefully causing undue harm towards others, whether members, non-members, or staff

Section 6. Membership Meeting

 The annual meeting shall be held November 1st of each year, the day after Samhain. This meeting will include reports of the affairs of the temple, and transact such other business as the High Council might determine to be brought before the members, including but not limited to affirmation of the appointments made by the High Council of those who shall serve as clergy for the ensuing year. 

Section 7. Special Membership Meetings

 Special meetings of the members may be called at any time by a majority of the members of the High Council. 

Section 8. Notice of Meetings

 Notice of all regular or special meetings shall be published in the newsletter. 

Section 9. Quorum

 The members present shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business at all regular or special meetings of the members. 

ARTICLE V – High Council

 Section 1. Responsibility of the High Council


 

Subject to the limitations of this Constitution, all the activities and affairs of the Temple shall be exercised by or under the direction of the High Council, who shall have the following responsibilities in addition to the other powers enumerated by this Constitution:

(a) To work as a team for the betterment of the Temple membership.

(b) To select and remove all clergy of the Temple; prescribe such duties for them consistent with law, with the Articles of Incorporation, or with this constitution; and fix the terms of their offices and their compensation.

(c) To establish policies and practices for the Temple consistent with its purpose.

(d) To make such disbursements from the funds and properties of the Temple as are required to fulfill the purposes of this Temple and generally to conduct, manage, and control the activities and affairs of the Temple and any subsequent branches. 

Section 2. Number of High Council Members

 A plurality of leadership will be present with at least three appointed members of the High Council. There is no limit to how many members may join the council. 

Section 3. Nomination, Selection, and Tenure of Office

 Recommendations to join the High Council shall be requested once a year from all Temple members. A nominating committee consisting of two High Council members chosen at random shall review all nominations and determine each nominee’s qualifications. A recommendation of nominees prepared by the nominating committee shall then be submitted to the majority of the High Councilwho shall approve, disapprove, or add to the list of nominees. At the annual meeting, the nominees shall be presented to the members for affirmation. Nominees affirmed by the church members, shall assume office immediately.  High Council members affirmed shall serve for a period of four years and may serve continuously if reaffirmed after each four year term. 

Section 4. Qualifications

 Each of the High Council must be an active member of this temple. They shall abide by the tenets of the Aduno Path, be secure in their spirituality, and act in accordance with the goals of the Temple. 

Section 5. Removal of a High Council Member

 A member may be removed from office at any meeting of the High Council if,  after thorough investigation they are found to be spiritually unqualified, misusing their power, or abusing members and or staff. 

Section 6. Regular Meetings

 Regular meetings of the High Council shall be held without call or notice each month at a day and time established by the High Council. 

ARTICLE VI – Administration Section 1. Committees

 To promote efficient function, the High Council may appoint committees from within their membership, and from the Temple at large. These committees shall perform tasks solely in accordance with the duties and with powers specifically delegated by the High Council.  

Section 2. Elders

 The High Council may appoint Elders from among clergy to be in charge of specific ministries and functions of the church. These appointments shall be affirmed by the members at the annual meeting. Elders shall serve for a term of two years, and shall be accountable to the High Council for the discharge of their responsibilities. 

ARTICLE VII – Ordination and Issuing Section 1. Ordination

 Ordination is achieved by completing the Ordination track through The Raven Academy of Mystical Arts or by proving that one has a full and legitimate spiritual understanding. Ordination shall be conferred for life, so long as the ordained continues to manifest the qualifications of the office. 

Section 2. Issuing

Ordination is issued by the Raven Academy of Mystical Arts and is given in recognition of a man’s call to that ministry. Its purpose is to allow an Ordained Clergy to perform ecclesiastical duties and functions of the Temple. Licenses will be evaluated on a yearly basis. 

ARTICLE VIII – Amendments

 This constitution may be amended by the High Council. Such amendments shall become effective upon affirmation by the congregation.
